Water in soil is in different forms

In different zones of soil, water occurs in different forms:

1. Suspended water: water that is in the topsoil coming from rain, snow, or spraying.
2. Capillary water: groundwater that rises to plant roots through fine pores.
3. Groundwater: groundwater can be reached by digging a hole in the ground. The level of groundwater depends on the precipitation.
